   Momma, My Brain Hurts! is a 45 Minute inspirational show about the struggles of learning differences. Professional Magician John Maverick tells his story of growing up dyslexic and not knowing until he failed his 9th grade year. He overcame his learning differences, finished High School and even went to college. Magic is used throughout the show not just to entertain but to drive home the messages of Don't give up, Stay in School, and Drugs will destroy your dreams.

   John Maverick is a Magician from Austin, Texas. He got his start in magic at a young age. At his fifth birthday party the Great Scott, a veteran of Austin magic, performed and John got his first taste of the art. John Always did well in school until Middle School, when things got tough. In High School John found out that he had several Learning Differences and could no longer compete with his classmates academically. He had to attend a special school for Learning Different students just to graduate. This show is his story, told by the student who lived it. Interspersed with John's award winning magic, the messages of this program hit strong and continue to inspire after the show has ended.

   This show is completely self-contained. We provide the sound system, music, props, and everything needed to present a professional show except for an electrical outlet. This presentation has been performed in auditoriums, classrooms, gymnasiums and cafeterias. Any school should be able to host this show.
